laboratory head in vitro pharmacology

 

Job description

You will be responsible within the Metabolic diseases therapeutic franchise for the implementation of a battery of in vitro and ex vivo pharmacological  assays and for the supervision of testing of in-house medicinal chemistry compounds at different project stages (Hit-To-Lead, Lead Optimization, Clinical candidate selection) with quality and short turn-around time. As the key-contact person you will communicate your data to project group and will propose and execute in vitro experiments for the good progression of the project. You will be responsible for a team of 2-3 technicians and research associates that you will manage, motivate and develop further. You will foster close interactions with discovery, preclinical and clinical departments. Especially you will develop excellent interactions with chemistry, HTS and Allosteric modulation plateform group. You could be asked to develop collaboration with our external experts or to identify potential groups. You have the potential to become a biology project leader for one of our programs.

Requirements

  • You are a highly motivated and independent scientist with proven track record in the pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
  • You have a Ph.D. in Molecular pharmacology, Cellular Biology, or Biochemistry with proven experience in in vitro pharmacological characterization of membrane targets.
  • You have experience in the development of dedicated in vitro and ex-vivo assays allowing the characterization of drugs interacting with targets for obesity, diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
  • You will have an extensive and practical knowledge of the drug discovery process gained in an industrial environment
  • A practical and theoretical experience in allosteric modulation pharmacology is a very strong asset.
