In this highly challenging role you will be responsible for the implementation of in vivo assays that will be used for the assessment of compounds in rodents to support drug discovery and development programs and selection of new clinical candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation and conduct of in vivo studies (plasma and tissue PK, tolerability and toxicology) based on instructions either in Study Plans or in SOP’s under consideration of general practices, own practical skills and in strict compliance with animal welfare legislation.
- Being responsible for in vivo studies including the provision and preparation of needed material and test systems as well as the evaluation of results according to the supervisor's requests.
- Facilitating preparation of study reports.
- Contributing to the writing and updating of SOPs and standard study plans.
- Maintaining contact to vendors of equipment for in vivo tests and maintain technical knowledge in the area of equipment for in vivo studies.
- Establishing and validating new technologies in in vivo models.
- Reports to in vivo Laboratory Head.
Main tasks
Maintaining, dosing, documenting clinical signs and sampling in rodents in the fields of PK and non-clinical safety.
Requirements
- Degree (BTS, DUT, BSc, or MSc) in biology, in-vivo studies or in a related field.
- Continuous education internal as well as external in the field of in vivo studies.
- First significant laboratory experience in PK and/or toxicology studies.
- Familiar with general in vivo techniques in rodents (specifically dosing and blood and organ sampling, intravenous implantation of catheters, surgical CSF sampling).
Surgical skills, willing to implement new methods. - Education and accreditation to work with in vivo models.
- Highly motivated, organized and recognized team player.
- Fluency in French and English is a plus.
